Each year we invite dynamic and diverse guest speakers to Western to engage students and faculty in discussions about American culture, history, politics, and current events. Past guests have included artist and activist Judy Chicago, authors Lawrence Hill (The Book of Negroes), Douglas Brinkley (The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf South), and James Carroll (House of War: The Pentagon and the Disastrous Rise of American Power), Professor of law & social policy, Anita Hill, musician David Clayton Thomas (Blood, Sweat & Tears), and author, academic, and former politician Michael Ignatieff.
